HIF Global is the world's pioneering commercial-scale electrofuel company, combining green hydrogen with captured CO2 to produce genuinely carbon-neutral drop-in fuels (e-gasoline, e-SAF, e-methanol) for existing engines and infrastructure. The underlying chemistry is sound and the Haru Oni pilot in Chile has demonstrated real production, but the company remains pre-commercial at scale: the flagship Texas facility has missed multiple self-imposed construction deadlines, and the energy-conversion penalty of e-fuels is severe (~13% well-to-wheel efficiency vs ~77% for EVs). Investors should believe in the technology's strategic niche for hard-to-abate sectors (aviation, shipping) while discounting the aggressive volumetric timelines and treating carbon-neutrality claims as conditional on truly additive renewable electricity being used throughout.
